1. L Tom Perry - 12 The Lord is bound - when ye do what he asks, you will receive the blessings. Children must learn early the blessings and what they must do to qualify for those blessings. Priesthood leaders need to teach these things. Help young men by givng them opportunies to serve. 2. David A Bednar - 12 Power of the Holy Ghost is the way that we recieve a witness of Jesus Christ, his gift and the revelations of Joseph Smith. Baptism is the channel and key for the reception of the Holy Ghost. 1. Desire to recieve -- sincerely - are we distracted by the cares of the world? 2. Invite the Holy Ghost into our lives. - 1. keeping of covenats, 2 praying, 3 scripture study 4 seek after virtuous thoughts and actions 5 worshiping in the temple, buildings and homes. (got distracted with talk about family history) 3. Larry R Lawerence - 70 Young people have the gift of the Holy Ghost too. We need to give an example of following on these promptings. Mothers and fathers need to be united. When you take the easy way out, you may be enabling destructive behavior. Where Morality is involved, we have a right and a privilege to raise a warning voice. Counseling requires courage. (Look up five righteous patterns) Our chidlren could be like Helamen's army - invincible. 4. Per G Malm - 70 5. Jairo Mazzagardi - 70 6. Mervyn B. Arnold - 70 Each day, we'll have to account of our useage of Christ's name. In 600 years, how will our names be remembered? The rules of the church are there for protection, not for restriction. However, if we do break, repentance is there to assist us. 7. M Russel Ballard - 12 Unlike a fly fisherman, Lucifer will not voluntarily allow us to go. Just one drink can be the difference between addiction and sobriety. Addiction is a disease of the mind - Sin is a disease of the soul.
